OUR PROJECT:
A Little Free Library (LFL) is a books ”house” in a public place, where people
can freely share books.
“The focus of our project is to fund, design, build and install several
Little Free Libraries™ in Talent and Phoenix to enhance literacy, promote the joy of reading,
and build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across generations.
WHERE:
We are selecting three locations in Talent, and three in Phoenix. The Ford Family Foundation requires that our Little Free Libraries be located on public property.
WHY:
LFL can promote the joy of reading, beautify our neighborhoods and encourage
people to read more and have more conversations about books.
WHEN:
Design, planning and construction are taking place in Summer 2014, with installation planned for November 2014
YOU’RE INVITED TO JOIN THE FUN:
We are all volunteers. If you can donate materials, labor and/or funds, please contact us. There are also opportunities to be stewards of the six LFLs to be sure they stay beautiful and useful for future readers. If you are interested please contact us here>>
